- fingerpainting. How do I clean this mess up? I keep a cloth handy for small splots of paint that get where they shouldn’t (for example, past the edge of the floor mat or on the wall). Then at the end of the activity, baby, clothes and highchair all went into the shower for a wash.
- printmaking as seen at Let’s Explore
- I wrote about the playground games I enjoyed playing and my husband has been teaching B one of his favourite playground games – marbles. They’ve been playing like this - you create a small bowl-shaped hole in the dirt. Then, take turns trying to throw the marbles into the hole. Then, you flick the remaining marbles (those that missed when you were throwing) into the hole with your fingers. Every time you get a marble in the hole you get another turn.
- we tried this shopping list idea from Children’s Resources Galore, which successfully kept B happy for a big supermarket trip
- we’ve been enjoying the card game War which I read about at teach mama (great for helping your child to recognise numbers)
- I bought some pattern blocks, which have been a big hit and played with daily
- we tried this glue + salt + watercolours activity from The Artful Parent
- B did some sculpture with clay. It turns out what he needed to really get started with clay was to see some people working with clay, which he got by watching Mister Maker on ABC Kids

Looks like your family had a fun month! I really want to try fingerpainting with my youngest -- taking it outdoors could make it even more interesting!
