5ive for the new year

A little while ago Debi from Go Explore Nature posted lists of 5ives she wanted to achieve to mark her birthday.  Here are some of my 5ives to mark the new year …
LOOKING BACK
5 adventures our family had in 2009
  • travelling to visit Granny who lives at the beach (one where you can swim because there are no box jellyfish)
  • mum started a blog
  • dad started his own business
  • we built (okay, dad and B built) and are enjoying a backyard fort
  • we got our own chickens
5 of my favourite posts of 2009
5 most popular posts of 2009 (leaving out posts about Christmas – apparently advent calendars are very popular)
LOOKING FORWARD
5 blog posts I want to write
  • projects using tools
  • photography with children
  • storytelling ideas
  • countdown to the first day of preschool
  • creating a miniature garden
5 adventures I can’t wait to enjoy with the kids
  • camping
  • learning to play the keyboard
  • family bike riding
  • B starting preschool
  • fishing and boat trips (hopefully I’ll be able to go this year now that J is a bit older)
5 areas I hope we’ll learn more about in 2010
  • music
  • art appreciation
  • identifying animals and plants
  • pasta making
  • sewing
Now it’s your turn – what would you like to see on Adventures with Kids in 2010?  What adventures are you or your family planning in 2010? Please leave me a comment.

Love this idea of posting 5ives! Our big adventure this year is welcoming baby #2 into the world. He's arriving this March so later this year I hope to take him on his first hiking adventure. Never too early to start!

Love your list, Catherine! :) I'd love to build a backyard fort this year, plant a garden & get at least one bird feeder up! Plenty of play outdoor fun!

Thanks for sharing your plans for 2010.
Good luck with bub #2 Melissa, it is certainly very adventurous to plan hiking with such small bub.
Debi - the fort is one of the best things we've added to our backyard especially with an increasingly active toddler!
