We Play - deconstruction

IMG_3308IMG_3310
B’s newest enthusiasm, to which he has now devoted many hours over the past week, deconstruction of appliances.  He is collecting bit and pieces for some unknown future invention!

My safety tips – supervision!  But you should also cut off cords and do not allow your child to take apart monitors (eg. TV or computer screen).

Come play together at the Childhood 101 We Play link up.

I know some little boys at preschool who would love doing this.

I have 2 'little' brothers who used to do this all the time. They've yet to teach their nephews (my boys) how to do this.... I'm sure they'd love it.

Deconstructing is a brilliant activity. I especially love that it involves fine motor skills but appeals to boys!

I love the use of 'real' objects within play. Even in a child care centre. Great post!

That's a great activity. I just loved taking things apart when I was a kid--although I can't say it was exactly encouraged.

I remember my brother spending hours as a child pulling things apart. Every watch he ever got was pulled apart within the day.
