Ways to Be Creative: 7/51 Make a Zentangle

You fill the various spaces of your paper with a variety of repetitive patterns.  The process is meditative.  For me, it is quite like doing logic puzzles, requiring just enough concentration that you need to block out other distractions and thoughts, letting you clear your mind. I used this book – One Zentangle A Day, by Beckah Krahula – to get me started with some of the basic patterns.  You can also find out more about Zentangles at the website.

I wanted to make an image of my name playing with negative space – inspired by something my son was doing at the time …
